Why nations should persue soft power - Shashi Tharoor PDF Print E-mail
Written by Raj Yadav
Wednesday, 27 January 2010

As India marches towards economic progress; military, trade and money will not be the only drivers, or measures for that matter,  to make her reach the goals. Instead,  she will be empowered by other mediums such as “Soft Power”, says Shashi Tharoor. He explains the term further as “its ability to share its culture with the world through food, music, technology, Bollywood. As he says, "In today's world, it's not the size of the army that wins. It's the country that tells a better story."

The story was covered 3 years ago right here as well. Just the other day a family friend passed this video of Shashi Tharoor re-echoing the sentiments on a TED show last month. It is a must listen to any global citizen, not only Indians. Check it out and have your say. We are doing our bit.  Wink
