New Delhi, Oct 17 (ANI): The festival of Dussehra, which symbolizes the victory of good over evil, is being celebrated through out the country on Sunday.
In the months of Ashwin and kartik, Hindus observe a 10-day ceremony of fast, rituals, celebrations and fiests to honor the mother Goddess and triumph of Lord Rama over demon Ravana.
Dussehra also symbolizes the triumph of warrior Goddess Durga over the buffalo demon Mahishasura.
The effigies of Ravana, Meghnada and Kumbhakarna will be consigned to flames at many places. The idols of Devi Durga will also be immersed in various rivers, lakes and ponds.
Meanwhile, President, Vice President and Prime Minister greeted the nation on the occasion of Dussehra.
President Pratibha Devisingh Patil in her message said the festival symbolizes the victory of truth over untruth and good over evil. |

The film, in which Salman Khan plays a corrupt cop and Sonu a politician, has collected Rs.48.25 crore (gross) at the opening weekend. And trade pundits say it has beaten the initial earnings of Hindi cinema's highest grosser '3 Idiots'. ''Dabangg' has created a benchmark by breaking all the records and now I am sure every film will be compared with 'Dabangg',' Sonu told reporters at Oberoi Mall Monday. Well, the way Dabangg was being promoted, I am sure you would have already booked your tickets for watching the film this week end itself rather than wait for reading its review and watch it may be, the next week end. I too did exactly the same thing. Also, Salman Khan while promoting the film also appeared super confident about Dabanng. The Eid week end has always worked wonders for him and this year too it has made him happy. Arbaaz Khan’s maiden production Dabangg is already dubbed a Super Hit, all credit to his Dabangg brother Salman Khan.
The film deposits its hopes on Salman Khan and he has delivered, without any doubt. It has everything that we as viewers would expect in a Salman Khan film. Hard hitting action, foot tapping music, an item number and one of Salman’s brother in the film (Arbaaz has a role in the film). Believe me, the film has everything that I have mentioned above and more so, it has Salman Khan, Salman Khan and more of him. The Khan’s of the film industry are known to carry an entire film on their shoulders alone and Salman Khan as Chulbul Pandey does exactly that. |

Toronto, Aug 1 (IANS) A posthumous album featuring 10 never-before-heard songs from the King of Pop Michael Jackson is set for a November release. At the time of his death, Jackson had reportedly left hard drives filled with previously unreleased music.
His former manager Frank DiLeo estimates Jackson’s vaults contain more than 100 completed and unreleased songs, including collaborations with Akon, will.i.am and Ne-Yo.
The tracks are expected to be included in the forthcoming release, alongside songs Jackson recorded at the peak of his career in the 1980s, reports torontosun.com.
“There are a couple of songs we recorded for the ‘Bad’ album that we had to cut that are just sensational,” said DiLeo. |
