Mumbai, Aug 17 (IANS) After actor Shah Rukh Khan was detained at Newark airport for a security check, many others like Zayed Khan and Irrfan Khan have come out with the ordeals they faced in the US because of their last names. This is what they have to say: Zayed Khan: Of course, we Khans go through this kind of humiliation all the time. I’ve gone through it, Salman has gone through it. I’m glad people are talking about it because of Shah Rukh. There have been times when I’ve been with 17 people in a team on tour or for a shooting in the US. Out of these only one gets detained at the airport. Guess who invariably gets detained? And some Caucasian bully, who does these checkings by the book and thinks all Khans are terrorists, will tell you it’s a random check. Tell me, how can there be random checks on five US airports one after another and in all of them only yours truly gets detained for additional checking? I think there’s a big difference between being secure and being ignorant. |

By Subhash K Jha We’ve heard bits and pieces, and even entire songs from films being scrapped. But Love Aaj Kal (LAK) takes the cake. While the recession and the multiplex strike proved a curse for the rest of the industry, it proved a blessing for Pritam. He was able to scrap and re-do the entire score. Says Pritam, “I saw the film with Imtiaz and my lyricist Irshad Kamal in January. I was horrified. I very bluntly told Imtiaz the music in LAK was not working. You have to understand, Imtiaz is the most chilled-out guy. He didn’t flinch when I told him this. He immediately told me to do what had to be done.” The first thing that needed to be changed in the soundtrack was the absence of a love ballad.

London, August 8 (ANI): Fans of legendary band The Beatles have started walking across the Abbey Road to make the 40th anniversary of the Abbey Road album photoshoot. Organiser Richard Porter, who has been running tours for more than 20 years, said he had decided to mark the special occasion on popular demand. “It’s the one scene everyone remembers. And people come from all over the world to walk across that particular crossing, following in the footsteps of the Beatles,” Sky News quoted him as saying. He added: “The Beatles have fans all around the world - probably more from America than anywhere else but a lot of Japanese are keen followers too. “And then of course now we’ve got people contacting us from the former Soviet Union and the Beatles have a growing band of fans there - they were banned as bad influences back in the day.” (ANI) |
